Free to browse!The Idea
Video Rewind started with a simple feeling: sometimes I do not want an algorithm to tell me what to watch. I want the older, messier experience of walking into a video rental store, drifting through the aisles, and finding something because the cover, the shelf, or the mood of the room pulled me there.
The Process
I started the build in Figma Make to quickly shape the idea and get the first version of the interface out of my head. From there, I moved into Codex and rebuilt it as an Angular project, using the generated direction as a starting point instead of a final answer. A lot of the work became wrestling with the CSS: getting the browsing layout to feel physical, tuning the poster grid, and testing different little TV-in-the-corner ideas before landing on the version that felt right. The last pass was all about mobile, making sure the interaction still felt fun, clear, and easy to wander through on a smaller screen.

Visual Ingredients
A small wall of the pieces that make Video Rewind feel like its own thing: logo marks, texture bits, interface scraps, and brand elements that can be swapped in as the system gets built out.

Next Pass
The next version would turn Video Rewind into more of a real membership experience. I want users to sign up with an email, get their own digital membership card, and save the movies they pick along the way. With an account in place, the app could use TVDB data to pull logos, character art, and show assets into collectible cards that make each pick feel like something worth keeping. I also want users to choose from a set of trailers instead of being locked into one preview. Further out, the dream version is a VR video store where you can actually walk the aisles, browse shelves, and let the space lead you to something unexpected.
